Dr. Nicholas Caplanis

Periodontist

Dr. Caplanis is an Assistant Professor and part-time faculty within the Graduate Programs in Implant Dentistry and Advanced Periodontics and Implant Surgery, at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He completed the three year Residency in Implant Dentistry in1995, received his Masters of Science Degree in Oral Implantology in 1996 and earned a specialty Certificate in Periodontics in 1997, all from Loma Linda University.

Dr. Caplanis has an extremely unique background with formal residency training in the inter-related fields of Implant surgery, Prosthodontics and Periodontics.

Dr. Caplanis is Board Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and American Board of Oral Implantology. He has published a number of papers on tissue regeneration and has co-authored a text book chapter in Tissue Engineering published by Quintessence, regarding bone morphogeneic protein applications to periodontal and per-implant defects. He has lectured nationally as well as internationally on his research, and implant dentistry and maintains a full-time private practice limited to periodontal reconstructive and dental implant surgery, in Mission Viejo, California.
