Dr. Mejia received his DDS degree from CES University in Medellin, Colombia in 1989. He finished his last semester education at the University of Illinois at Chicago that same year. In 1995 he received his specialty degree in Periodontal Prostheses were he was trained in periodontics and prosthodontics and become a faculty member at CES University as an assistant professor. In 2010 he went to Los Angeles, California for a one year training program in implant dentistry at the Global Institute for Dental Education directed by Dr. Sascha Jovanovic, were he received his certificate of Master Clinician in Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Mejia not only has a private practice in implants and oral rehabilitation, but he has also lecture locally and internationally.
He has also co-authored several research papers and he is the co-founder and director of the Colombia gIDE/UCLA study club.
