Learn, Observe & Practice

• Restorative and esthetic topics involved in osseointegration and implant prosthodontics will cover multiple teeth, and single tooth restorations.

• Surgical management of extraction sockets, implant placement in different bone conditions, ridge augmentation using GBR procedures, patient selection and preparation and complications is highlighted.

• Accurate analog and digital impression taking, fit of framework, screw-retained vs cemented, abutment choice and occlusal design are highlighted in detail.

Live Surgery

Live surgery by faculty will show the step by step of surgical implant placement, tissue management and regeneration and pre and post op work up.

Workshops

7 Hands-on workshops with plastic and fresh porcine jaw models will be performed over the 5 days. The placement of 12 dental implants using microsurgical Hu-Friedy hand instruments, nylon and PTFE suture materials, drill units, Straumann BLC, BLX and TLX implant systems, GBR bone regenerative biomaterials, digital photography steps and 3Shape scanning protocols are performed.

FACULTY

Dr. Sascha A. Jovanovic is considered a global expert in Implant Dentistry and one of the founders of Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) and Esthetic Implant Surgery with over 80 scientific publications. He is Academic Chair of the gIDE Institute, Past-President of the EAO, Past-Co-Director of the UCLA Dental Implant Center, honorary member and award recipient of several global academic organizations and editorial boards for scientific journals. He was first trained in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda Univ; then in Prosthodontics at Univ of Aachen, Germany; then in Periodontics at UCLA School of Dentistry; and holds a Master of Sciences Degree in Oral Biology from UCLA. Dr. Jovanovic’s clinical practice and research emphasizes advanced implant dentistry, tissue regeneration and esthetic implant management.

Prof Daniel Buser is Professor and Chairman at the Department of Oral Surgery at the University of Bern in Switzerland since 2000. He spent several sabbaticals at Harvard University in Boston (1989-91), at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas (1995), and at the University of Melbourne (2007/08). In 2016, he spends another 6-month sabbatical at Harvard School of Dental Medicine for various projects. His main research areas are in surface technology, long-term stability of dental implants, tissue regeneration around dental implants, and Guided Bone Regeneration. He has authored and co-authored more than 350 publications, which are highly cited, and several text books including two GBR books and several ITI Treatment Guides. He widely lectures at national and international conferences.

Prof Simion has a Degree of Medicine and Dentistry from the University of Milan. Consultant Professor at the University of Parma and Founder of the Italian Society of Osseointegration. Member of the Board of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) since 1998. President of the EAO for the year 2001-2003. He works half time in his private practice, limited to periodontics and implant surgery, and half time professor at the University of Milan, department of periodontology and implant therapy. He published several key papers in the field of GBR and is an international lecturer on the topic of osseointegration and guided bone regeneration.

Dr. Francesco Mintrone began his career as a dental technician and in particular, as a ceramist. Following his Degree in Dentistry with a prize at the University of Modena, Italy, he began to improve his knowledge in prosthetic dentistry and implant surgery. He is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) and has his own dental practice, specializing in Prosthodontics and Esthetic Dentistry. Dr. Mintrone is an award-winning published clinician. He is invited to lecture globally due to his recognized expertise.

Dr. Giacomo Fabbri is an Active Member of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry (A.I.O.P), a prestigious scientific Academy in the field of esthetic and prosthetic dentistry. He has published several international articles in peer-reviewed journals and lectured in Italy and abroad on topics related to fixed prosthodontics and implant prosthodontics with specific interest on esthetics, new materials and minimally invasive approach. He works at Ban Mancini Fabbri Specialist Dental Practice, located in Cattolica, Italy in the field of esthetics and prosthetic rehabilitation on natural teeth and implants.

Dr. Stefano Gori graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Florence. He specialized in dentistry through numerous advanced courses both in Italy and abroad. He is a speaker at national and international conferences in implant dentistry and lectures at several universities, including the University of Padua and the Catholic University of Rome. Dr. Gori co-led a Master Clinician Course on aesthetic challenges in implant dentistry for the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO) and contributed to Dr. Mauro Fradeani’s book on aesthetic rehabilitation. He focuses exclusively on oral surgery and implantology, practicing in Florence and Pesaro, collaborating with Dr. Fradeani for over 20 years

Dr. Natasa Gregoric obtained her dentistry degree from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria in 2008. Upon graduation she was offered a position as University Assistant at the Department of Periodontology at the MUV, Austria, where she completed her Master of Science in Periodontology in 2012. In 2014 she completed one year Endodontology Curriculum in Munich, Germany (Prof. Baumann). She became gIDE (Loma Linda University) Master Clinician (Dr. Sascha Jovanovic) in 2017. In 2019 she conducted 1 year International Postgraduate Program in Reconstruction Surgery of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Tissues from Milan, Italy (Prof. Massimo de Sanctis). She is since 2017 gIDE Mentor and became in 2021 gIDE Europe Coordinator. She runs a private dental practice in Ljubljana Slovenia.

Dr. Pallesen is a dedicated clinician and educator. DDS and former research associate, University of Copenhagen. Trained in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at University Hospital Copenhagen subsequently specializing in implant dentistry. Currently consultant at University of Copenhagen and consulting implant surgeon at University Hospital Copenhagen. Lectures widely and co-founder of Copenhagen Clinic for Advanced Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Implants with extensive clinical experience. Board member of the Danish Society of Oral Surgery.

Cancellation fee is $750 up to forty-five (45) days prior to each program. After that date, there will be no refunds. gIDE may cancel scheduled courses up to thirty (30) days prior to the scheduled start of the course if certain attendance minimums are not met. gIDE is not responsible for reimbursing prepaid (including non-refundable) customer travel costs. It is recommended that customers who elect to incur travel costs for a training course, schedule and purchase airfare and hotel accommodations with this in mind.
If a course is canceled, rescheduled, or disrupted due to Force Majeure, gIDE will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative learning options. However, if rescheduling or alternative arrangements are not feasible, the course may be canceled entirely. Due to the nature of Force Majeure events, gIDE will not be held responsible for issuing refunds in cases of course cancellations or disruptions caused by such events.
