EXPERT FACULTY

Dr Sascha Jovanovic

Periodontist & Program Chair, Los Angeles

Dr. Sascha A. Jovanovic is considered a global expert in Implant Dentistry and one of the founders of Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) and Esthetic Implant Surgery with over 80 scientific publications. He is Academic Chair of the gIDE Institute, Past-President of the EAO, Past-Co-Director of the UCLA Dental Implant Center, honorary member and award recipient of several global academic organizations and editorial boards for scientific journals. He was first trained in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda Univ; then in Prosthodontics at Univ of Aachen, Germany; then in Periodontics at UCLA School of Dentistry; and holds a Master of Sciences Degree in Oral Biology from UCLA. Dr. Jovanovic’s clinical practice and research emphasizes advanced implant dentistry, tissue regeneration and esthetic implant management.

Prof daniel Buser

Oral & Implant Surgeon, University of Bern, CH

Prof Da­niel Bu­ser is Pro­fes­sor and Chairman at the De­part­ment of Oral Sur­ge­ry at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Ber­n in Swit­zer­land since 2000. He spent several sabbaticals at Harvard University in Boston (1989-91), at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas (1995), and at the University of Melbourne (2007/08). In 2016, he spends another 6-month sabbatical at Harvard School of Dental Medicine for various projects. His main research areas are in surface technology, long-term stability of dental implants, tissue regeneration around dental implants, and Gui­ded Bo­ne Re­ge­ne­ra­tion. He has authored and co-authored more than 350 publications, which are highly cited, and several text books including two GBR books and several ITI Treatment Guides. He widely lectures at national and international conferences.

PROF MASSIMO SIMION

Oral Surgeon, University of Milan

Prof Simion has a Degree of Medicine and Dentistry from the University of Milan. Consultant Professor at the University of Parma and Founder of the Italian Society of Osseointegration. Member of the Board of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) since 1998. President of the EAO for the year 2001-2003. He works half time in his private practice, limited to periodontics and implant surgery, and half time professor at the University of Milan, department of periodontology and implant therapy. He published several key papers in the field of GBR and is an international lecturer on the topic of osseointegration and guided bone regeneration.

Dr Francesco Mintrone

Prosthodontist, Modena, Italy

Dr. Francesco Mintrone began his career as a dental technician and in particular, as a ceramist. Following his Degree in Dentistry with a prize at the University of Modena, Italy, he began to improve his knowledge in prosthetic dentistry and implant surgery. He is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) and has his own dental practice, specializing in Prosthodontics and Esthetic Dentistry. Dr. Mintrone is an award-winning published clinician. He is invited to lecture globally due to his recognized expertise.

Dr Irene Sailer

Prosthodontist, University of Geneva, Switzerland

Dr. Irena Sailer is Chair of the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. A recognized expert in esthetic and implant prosthodontics, she has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles and co-authored several books. She serves as Editor-in-Chief of The International Journal of Prosthodontics and is actively involved in leading dental organizations, including the EAED and EAO. Her research focuses on digital dentistry, biomaterials, and fixed restorations.

Dr Giacomo Fabbri

Prosthodontist, Cattolica, Italy

Dr. Giacomo Fabbri is an Active Member of the Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry (A.I.O.P), a prestigious scientific Academy in the field of esthetic and prosthetic dentistry. He has published several international articles in peer-reviewed journals and lectured in Italy and abroad on topics related to fixed prosthodontics and implant prosthodontics with specific interest on esthetics, new materials and minimally invasive approach. He works at Ban Mancini Fabbri Specialist Dental Practice, located in Cattolica, Italy in the field of esthetics and prosthetic rehabilitation on natural teeth and implants.

Dr Ramón Gómez Meda

General Dentist, Ponferrada, Spain

Dr. Ramón Gómez Meda, a graduate of the University of Santiago de Compostela, is a renowned expert in periodontal plastic surgery, bone regeneration, and complex implant procedures. Based in Ponferrada, Spain, his practice focuses on advanced implantology, periodontics, and restorative dentistry. An esteemed educator and international lecturer, he leads hands-on courses in soft tissue management and guided bone regeneration. As a faculty member of gIDE and a published author in leading dental journals, Dr. Gómez Meda actively advances modern implant dentistry and regenerative therapies worldwide. His commitment to innovation and excellence has made him a sought-after speaker and mentor in the field of dentistry.

Dr LARS PALLESEN

Oral Surgeon, Copenhagen, Denmark

Dr. Pallesen is a dedicated clinician and educator. DDS and former research associate, University of Copenhagen. Trained in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at University Hospital Copenhagen subsequently specializing in implant dentistry. Currently consultant at University of Copenhagen and consulting implant surgeon at University Hospital Copenhagen. Lectures widely and co-founder of Copenhagen Clinic for Advanced Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Implants with extensive clinical experience. Board member of the Danish Society of Oral Surgery.

Dr STEFANO GORI

Oral Surgeon & Implantologist, Florence, Italy

Dr. Stefano Gori is a medical doctor and dentist who graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Florence. He specializes in oral surgery and implantology and has collaborated for over 20 years with Dr. Mauro Fradeani in Florence and Pesaro. Dr. Gori is a lecturer in postgraduate programs at universities including the University of Padua, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, and Unicamillus University of Rome. He also lectures internationally and co-organized a Master Clinician Course on aesthetic implant challenges with the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO).

Dr Joseph Kan

Prosthodontist, Loma Linda University

Dr. Joseph Kan received DDS from Loma Loma University School of Dentistry (LLUSD), California, USA, and then completed Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry with MS. He is currently Professor and teaches at Advanced Education Program for Implant Dentistry and Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at LLU. He also maintains a private practice. Besides lecturing nationally and internationally, Dr. Kan has published over 100 referenced articles and book chapters on interdisciplinary treatment planning, periodontal peri-implant tissue management, and immediate tooth replacement concepts.

Dr Tristan Staas

General Dentist, s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands

Tristan Staas graduated from the University of Utrecht in 1988 and, with his wife Mieke Bergmans, founded Staas & Bergmans zorgvooruwmond in 1990, offering general, aesthetic, and implant dentistry in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. In 2012, they opened a second multidisciplinary clinic for complex treatments, and later a third focused on youth, geriatric, and special care patients. Tristan specializes in immediate implant placement and autotransplantation in the aesthetic zone, teaches 3D techniques, conducts research, and oversees implantology education for oral surgeons at Radboud University Nijmegen. His work is recognized for advancing innovative approaches in aesthetic implantology and multidisciplinary patient care.

Dr Erik Blom

Prosthodontist & Implant Dentist, Amsterdam, Netherlands

In 1989 graduated from the University of Amsterdam as a dentist. After graduation, he worked as a general dentist in several dental clinics in and outside the Netherlands. In 1994 he started at the Department of oral implantology at ACTA (Academic Centre for Dentistry in Amsterdam). In this period he specialized in restorative and esthetic dentistry. In 2001 he got his PhD on a thesis about Growth factors and bone growth. In the same year he started his private clinic near Amsterdam, also he got his Master of Science in oral implantology. Currently, he is associate Professor at ACTA and runs a private dental clinic . He published several articles in the international literature and is a frequent presenter at national and international congresses.

Dr Piero Papi

Oral Surgeon, Rome, Italy

Dr. Piero Papi is a Researcher and Assistant Professor at the Department of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Sciences at “Sapienza” University of Rome, where he earned his PhD in 2021 studying systemic conditions and peri-implantitis. He has held visiting positions at top institutions including Harvard, UCL, and the University of Zurich, and was awarded Italy’s National Scientific Habilitation in 2020. A recipient of the “Young Pro Award” and several prestigious research grants, including the ITI Research Large Grant and the Italian Fund for Science Starting Grant, his work focuses on peri-implantitis and tissue regeneration. Dr. Papi has published over 70 scientific articles, lectures in postgraduate programs at “Sapienza,” and serves on editorial boards and scientific societies. He is also an international speaker and opinion leader for Straumann, botiss biomaterials, and Hu-Friedy.

Dr Natasa Gregoric

General Dentist, Ljubljana, Slovenia

Dr. Natasa Gregoric obtained her dentistry degree from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria in 2008. Upon graduation she was offered a position as University Assistant at the Department of Periodontology at the MUV, Austria, where she completed her Master of Science in Periodontology in 2012. In 2014 she completed one year Endodontology Curriculum in Munich, Germany (Prof. Baumann). She became gIDE (Loma Linda University) Master Clinician (Dr. Sascha Jovanovic) in 2017. In 2019 she conducted 1 year International Postgraduate Program in Reconstruction Surgery of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Tissues from Milan, Italy (Prof. Massimo de Sanctis). She is since 2017 gIDE Mentor and became in 2021 gIDE Europe Coordinator. She runs a private dental practice in Ljubljana Slovenia.

Tax Deductibility Information
Registration in the gIDE Europe Master Clinician Program may be tax-deductible across EU jurisdictions as a job‑related continuing professional development expense. Eligible participants may claim tuition, materials, travel, and accommodation costs—provided these expenses are directly linked to maintaining or improving skills in their current medical role, are not reimbursed, and are supported by proper documentation. Individual eligibility, deduction limits, and procedural requirements vary by country, so participants should consult a qualified tax advisor in their country of residence.

Initial deposit is non-refundable.
Initial deposit and 1st installment payment are non-refundable after Session I.
All payments received prior to Session III are non-refundable regardless of participation during sessions III and IV.
In special circumstances course completion postponement may be approved by gIDE. In such cases, fees may be applied. Refund policy is applied based on date of first enrollment.

Dates and location are subject to change.
If a course is canceled, rescheduled, or disrupted due to Force Majeure, gIDE will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative learning options. However, if rescheduling or alternative arrangements are not feasible, the course may be canceled entirely. Due to the nature of Force Majeure events, gIDE will not be held responsible for issuing refunds in cases of course cancellations or disruptions caused by such events. Participants are encouraged to consider adding flex-traveler protection when making travel arrangements for any courses in general.
Social activities for the program sessions will be finalized once we are on site. The specific activities will be determined based on the time available and the collective preferences of attendees. In past sessions, typical social events have included group dinners, cocktail hours, city walks, and sports activities. We look forward to creating a dynamic program that offers something enjoyable for everyone, and we encourage you to share any preferences or suggestions you may have during the event.
